So I got to fly out to Portland, Oregon for my best childhood friend Melyssa's wedding in the Portland Temple with my mom. First, I got super sick on Tues., Wed., like really sick (like temp. was 102.8 at one time, yikes!), then on Wed. Tim took me to the doctor, I thought for sure it was strep throat. Nope it was tonscilitis, and the doctor gave me some anti biotics, and I went to work Thurs. and flew out that night not feeling very good. I was pretty sure my ear drum was going to explode when we landed in Portland, I was a slight disaster and crying a little uncontrollably, mom was not sure what to do with me. Then I got it under control and we met Jerry & Norm my uncle, and they took us to their place to stay on Thursday night. Friday we woke up and they made us eggs benedict for breakfast it was good, then we got the grand tour of their home it is kind of in the shape of a U wrapped around the pool, really cool architectual design. Then uncle Norm had to work at noon, so Jerry drove us to Ridgefield, WA to stay at Melyssa's house. We decided we weren't ready to be done talking with Jerry so we went to lunch in Historical Ridgefield at a mexican restaurant it was delicious and fun. We arrived after 4pm and got to go see where the reception was, it was beautiful as you can see by the photos below. Then I met Adria, Melyssa's other best friend, how funny that we are only 1 letter different in our names, she was really sweet and fun, we had a blast, all 3 of us are married now, woo hoo for Melyssa and Eric! So Saturday came and we went to the temple for their sealing, it was beautiful and fun to hear what their sealer said, I was kind of shell shocked on my wedding day so I don't remember what our sealer said. Then afterward we took some pictures and then my mom and I took off to run some errands for the reception. We got back and they had their ring ceremony and then the recption started, everything was gorgeous and the weather was spectacular, it was warm, and sunny the whole trip. Then we got home this morning, all in all it was a wonderful trip despite my illness which is better now. Congratulations Melyssa & Eric!

Cute!! That is awesome that you were able to go, bad timing with the sickness. The Portland temple is so pretty...too bad Tim couldn't go, it would have been really romantic trip I am sure...LOL

Glad you are feeling better! Your uncle's house looks awesome, the reception looks awesome too! So fun that you got to go with your mom and be there for such a close friend.
