Wow! We had such a great anniversary weekend in Tahoe. We left Thurs. night and stopped in Elko, NV and stayed at the Thunderbird Inn then drove the rest of the way Friday to South Lake Tahoe for our 3 nights at the Fantasy Inn. Fantasy Inn was way fun, it was really kind of cheesy but nice for what we paid (which was the deal of the century) and I would totally recommend it. Friday we got in at 1:30 but couldn't check-in until 3pm, so we drove around to find where stuff was, it's really pretty there. That night we went out to dinner at Cecil's it was delicious. To end the night we had a romantic walk on the beach. Saturday we got up and took our bikes out that we borrowed from the fam to a trail that went along the coast, then stopped for icecream cones at Camp Richardson (yummy). Then we stopped at a beach (I think it was Pope Beach) and had some lunch and played in the water a little, biked back, got in the car and drove up to Emerald Bay. First we hiked to Eagle Falls that runs above Emerald Bay right out of the side of the freeway, then down to Vikingsholm which is really cool. If you want to read the story behind it here's the link (http://www.vikingsholm.org/index.html), it's kind of neat, the lady that owned Vikingsholm also owned Fannette Island. By the time we were done hiking and biking we were exhausted so we went to bed. Sunday we headed down to Sand Harbour (best beach at Tahoe) and layed out and played in the water a little but it was cold. To close off the weekend we went to visit Rachel (cousin) and Jesse and his family for dinner, it was the best meal we had had all weekend :). It was so fun to see you guys thanks for having us! Last but not least we drove the 9 hours back on Monday to be back to work on Tuesday, lets just say that was enough to last me a while. It was a great vacation and so nice to get away and not be bothered at all. I hope to keep celebrating our anniversaries with fun trips, I am really growing accustumed to it. (sorry the pics are backwards so start at the bottom and work up)
